Grant's Blog

It has been some kinda week. There are some stories that are sooooo far out there, that if they weren't serious, they'd be a gigantic laugh.

The First Laffer

This story is absolutely wrong on all levels, but this is what passes for bullshit these days.

Clinton admits "tough" to pass gasoline tax break; May 6, 2008; Yahoonews/Reuters
Sorry there is one thing true in this story --- the headline.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton admitted on Monday it would be tough to lift the federal gasoline tax this summer as she has proposed because of a likely veto from President George W. Bush.
A partial truth here, "tough", but not to the reason presented here. First of all since both the House and Senate have Democraps in the majority, it would be tough to get any tax reduction bill passed for a signature.
Obama has accused the former first lady of political pandering with a proposal that would not save consumers much money in the end.
Pandering? Hell, that's all both of you have ever done.
"Do I think we can get it done, past a veto by President Bush as the ultimate blocker?" she said. "It's obviously a very difficult challenge. But that doesn't mean you don't try."
Let me end this and spare you people from throwing up your last meal. NO democrap would ever reduce any kind of tax, any where. There is NO Republican (except for McCain) any where who would veto a tax reduction bill. You can now weep, we're screwed this election cycle.

Laffer number 2

Get this next story. Like I said, you could laugh if it weren't so pathetic.
Obama, Clinton vie in Guam Democratic caucuses; May 3, 2008; YahooNews.com
If you haven't figured it out by now, the mass media moguls are totally in the tank for Obama.
Barack Obama defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton by seven votes in the Guam Democratic presidential caucuses Saturday. The count of more than 4,500 ballots took all night.
You sorta have to wonder if the Clintonistas won't demand a recount.
Results of the count completed Sunday morning Guam time show delegates pledged to Obama with 2,264 votes to 2,257 for Clinton's slate. That means they'll split the pledged delegate votes. Obama's slate won in 14 of 21 districts.
This story belongs into the SO WHAT game I played last week, but who cares? The mass media cares that's who. Obama hasn't won a primary since late February and he needs some momentum. Ho Hum, but Guam? A real powerhouse win by 7 votes.

This one is precious too

These idiot liberals are into everything.
PETA wants Eight Belles jockey suspended after filly's death; May 4, 2008; AP/YahooNews
These people are moving into sacred territory now, the Kentucky Derby.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is seeking the suspension of Eight Belles' jockey after the filly had to be euthanized following her second-place finish in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.
By the time this if finished, they'll ask for the electric chair for this jockey.
Gabriel Saez was riding Eight Belles when she broke both front ankles while galloping out a quarter of a mile past the wire. She was euthanized on the track.

PETA faxed a letter Sunday to Kentucky's racing authority claiming the filly was "doubtlessly injured before the finish" and asked that Saez be suspended while Eight Belles' death is investigated.
Well, how would they know he was injured before the finish? They're liberals, that's how they know. They get their inside info from Mr. Ed.
"What we really want to know, did he feel anything along the way?" PETA spokeswoman Kathy Guillermo said. "If he didn't then we can probably blame the fact that they're allowed to whip the horses mercilessly."
Did he feel anything along the way? How will they figure that one out? Whip the horses mercilessly? You sort of wonder if Kathy there uses a velvet fly swatter.
Eight Belles trainer Larry Jones said the filly was clearly happy when she crossed the finish line.

"I don't know how in the heck they can even come close to saying that," Jones told The Associated Press on Sunday. "She has her ears up, clearly galloping out."
I have something else up when I'm happy.
Guillermo said if Saez is found at fault, the group wants the second- place prize of $400,000 won by Eight Belles to be revoked.
Gosh, not only did the owner lose a horse and future foals, but they now want to take away his prize money. Maybe we can ask Hillary to step in here. She knows all about taking away money. She will probably claim it will be tough as Bush will veto that one too.
